TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto returned to the country on Wednesday afternoon after concluding working visits to Russia and France.
According to a live broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel, the presidential aircraft Garuda Indonesia carrying Prabowo landed at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta at around 2:00 p.m. local time.
Upon arrival, Prabowo was welcomed at the foot of the aircraft stairs by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and several senior officials, including State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Armed Forces Commander General Agus Subiyanto, and National Intelligence Agency (BIN) Head Muhammad Herindra.
Dressed in a light brown safari suit and a blue cap, Prabowo briefly spoke with the officials on the airport apron before continuing his reception with Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. He then entered a vehicle and departed the airbase.
Earlier in his overseas trip, Prabowo arrived in Moscow on Monday (April 13, local time), where he held a nearly five-hour meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin.
During the talks, both leaders agreed to strengthen cooperation in strategic sectors, including energy, mineral resources, and downstream industrial development. They also reaffirmed commitments to expand collaboration in other areas expected to contribute to national development.
Prabowo and Putin further discussed global geopolitical uncertainties, with Prabowo acknowledging Russia as a major world power important to maintaining international balance.
Following the meeting in Moscow, Prabowo traveled to Paris, where he met French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace on Tuesday (April 14).
The two leaders discussed a range of strategic issues, including defense cooperation, the creative economy, energy transition, infrastructure, transportation, and education.
“Including defense equipment procurement and strengthening the defense industry, the energy transition and development of new and renewable energy, infrastructure and transportation, as well as education and the creative economy,” Prabowo said in an official social media post.
The Indonesian government views France as a key strategic partner in Europe for expanding and deepening bilateral cooperation.
