TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The 2025/2026 Champions League semifinals will officially see defending champion Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) against Bayern Munich, and Atletico Madrid against Arsenal. The four teams secured their spots in the final four after the quarter-final phase concluded in the early hours of Thursday, April 16, 2026.

Bayern Munich advanced after a dramatic 4-3 victory over Real Madrid in the second leg at Allianz Arena, Munich. The result secured a 6-4 aggregate lead for the German representative, who will face PSG, who had previously eliminated Liverpool.

The first leg of PSG vs Bayern semi-final will take place on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Parc des Princes Stadium, Paris. The second leg will take place at the Allianz Arena in the early hours of Thursday, May 7, 2026.

Meanwhile, Arsenal progressed to the semifinals after a goalless draw against Sporting CP in the second leg at Emirates Stadium in London. The Gunners advanced with a 1-0 aggregate lead from their victory in the first leg in Lisbon.

In the semi-final, Arsenal will face Atletico Madrid, who eliminated Barcelona. The first leg will take place on Thursday, April 30, at the Civitas Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid. The second leg will take place on Wednesday, May 6, at the Emirates Stadium in London.

Bayern Knock Out Real Madrid

Bayern Munich secured their semi-final ticket after defeating Real Madrid 4-3 in the second leg of the quarter-finals at Allianz Arena. The victory completed a 6-4 aggregate for Bayern, following their earlier 2-1 win in the first leg at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

The four goals for Bayern were scored by Aleksandar Pavlovic (6'), Harry Kane (38'), Luis Diaz (89'), and Michael Olise (90+4'). Meanwhile, Real Madrid scored through two goals by Arda Gler (1', 29') and one goal by Kylian Mbapp (42').

The match was open from the beginning. Madrid took an early lead in the first minute when Arda Guler capitalized on Manuel Neuer's mistake. However, Bayern responded quickly. In the sixth minute, Pavlovic equalized with a header from a corner taken by Joshua Kimmich.

Madrid regained the lead in the 29th minute through Guler's free-kick. Bayern leveled the score again through Harry Kane in the 38th minute after receiving a pass from Dayot Upamecano. Kylian Mbappe put Madrid ahead 3-2 in the 42nd minute, also setting a record as the first player to score 10 away goals in one edition of the Champions League.

Entering the second half, the intensity remained high. The situation turned in the 86th minute after Eduardo Camavinga received a second yellow card. With a numerical advantage, Bayern increased the pressure and scored two decisive goals through Luis Daz (89') and Michael Olise (90+4'). Arda Guler of Madrid received a second red card in the 90+5th minute for protesting against the referee after the match.

Arsenal Held to a Draw by Sporting

Arsenal progressed to the semifinals after a goalless draw against Sporting CP in the second leg at Emirates Stadium. The result was enough for Arsenal to advance with a 1-0 aggregate lead, thanks to their victory in the first leg in Lisbon. In the semi-final, Arsenal will face Atletico Madrid, who eliminated Barcelona with a 3-2 aggregate.

In that match, Arsenal applied pressure from the start. The first opportunity came in the second minute through Gabriel Martinelli, but Sporting's defense managed to anticipate. Sporting threatened through a shot by Luis Suarez that still sailed over the crossbar of David Raya's goal.

Entering the second half, the match became more open. Sporting had an opportunity with Maximiliano Araujo, while Arsenal responded with a header by Leandro Trossard that hit the post. In the remaining time, both teams kept pressing. Chances from Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke were not enough to change the score. The solid defense of both teams led to a goalless draw.
