TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Eight people, including four children, were injured in a shooting in Brooklyn, New York, while the country was celebrating the "4th of July" weekend, the New York Times reported on Sunday, citing local sources and police data.
The number of injuries from the incident increased after the newspaper previously reported that at least five people, including two children, were injured.
Citing NBC News, the shooting left one woman, 21 years of age, in critical condition, while seven others remain stable. The victims range in age from 6 to 37.
A 7-year-old boy was shot in both legs, a 12-year-old boy was shot in the leg and a 14-year-old boy was shot in the thigh, according to the New York police.
According to CBS, local police received a call late Saturday, around 10:37 p.m., reporting that multiple people were shot at 2929 West 31st St.
A firearm was recovered at the scene, but no arrests have been made as the police investigation is underway.
