TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecasts that weather conditions in the majority of major Indonesian cities on Tuesday will range from partly cloudy to cloudy and overcast.
BMKG forecaster Adelia Febby, speaking during a weather update monitored in Jakarta on Tuesday morning, stated that in western Indonesia, conditions ranging from partly cloudy to overcast are likely in Banda Aceh, Tanjung Pinang, and Pangkal Pinang.
"Next are Serang, Jakarta, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Pontianak, and Samarinda," she said.
Meanwhile, she added, light rain is likely in Medan, Pekanbaru, Padang, Bengkulu, Bandung (West Java), and Tanjung Selor (North Kalimantan).
Adelia noted that the BMKG also forecasts hazy conditions in Jambi, Palembang (South Sumatra), Bandar Lampung, Banjarmasin, and Palangkaraya.
Turning to eastern Indonesia, conditions ranging from partly cloudy to overcast are likely in Denpasar, Kupang, Makassar, Kendari, Gorontalo, Manado, Ternate, Ambon, Sorong, Jayapura, Jayawijaya, and Merauke.
Additionally, light rain is likely in Mamuju and Palu.
"Meanwhile, there is a potential for smoke or fog in Manokwari and Nabire, while hazy conditions are likely in Mataram," Adelia said.
In light of these varied weather conditions, the BMKG urges the public to stay updated on weather forecasts via the agency's official website and social media channels.
