TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Carla Jeffery, the actress best known for playing Bree in Disney Channel’s ZOMBIES movie franchise, has died at the age of 33.
Jeffery died on September 1, 2026, according to a statement shared by her talent agency on Wednesday, September 2, cited by Billboard. Her death was also mourned by fellow ZOMBIES cast members, who remembered her for her warmth and bright personality.
Carla Jeffery Dies at 33
“It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Carla Jeffery, who passed away on September 1, 2026, at just 33 years old,” her talent agency, Alexanders Talent Management, said in a statement posted on Jeffery’s Instagram.
The agency said Jeffery joined the company at age 12 and had been part of its family for more than two decades.
“As Bree in Disney’s hit ZOMBIES franchise, Carla shared her joy, humor, and bright spirit with audiences around the world,” the statement said, adding that she was “more than a client” and was considered family.
The agency asked for privacy for Jeffery’s family and loved ones as they mourned her death.
Jeffery’s Acting Career
Born in Houston, Jeffery began acting as a child. Her first screen role came in 2006, when she played a 10-year-old version of Mo’Nique’s character Jazmin in Phat Girlz.
From 2007 to 2009, she had a recurring role as Keysha on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Jeffery gained wider recognition in 2018 after being cast as Bree in Disney Channel’s ZOMBIES. She reprised the role in ZOMBIES 2 and ZOMBIES 3, which was released in 2022.
She also voiced Bree in Zombies: The Re-Animated Series in 2024.
‘ZOMBIES’ Cast Mourns Jeffery
Carla Jeffery’s former co-stars shared tributes following news of her death.
Milo Manheim, who starred in the ZOMBIES franchise, called Jeffery “the sweetest person I have ever met” in the comments on her Instagram post, adding, “I love you.”
Freya Skye, who joined the franchise in ZOMBIES 4, also paid tribute to Jeffery.
“What a wonderful, bright, joyous human. Rest easy Carla,” Skye wrote.
Jeffery’s death marks a loss for the ZOMBIES franchise, where her portrayal of Bree made her a familiar face to Disney audiences.
