TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto wished a happy celebration of Easter to all Christians in Indonesia on Sunday, April 20, 2025. According to Prabowo, Easter is a sacred moment to contemplate the meaning of sacrifice, resurrection, and hope.
"Happy Easter to the Christian community across the archipelago. Easter is a sacred moment to reflect on the meaning of sacrifice, resurrection, and hope," said Prabowo as quoted from his official social media account @prabowo, Sunday, April 20, 2025.
The head of state hopes that Easter can strengthen brotherhood and foster harmony amidst diversity. He invited Christians to maintain unity for a more advanced and prosperous Indonesia.
As part of the Holy Easter Triad of 2025, the Jakarta Cathedral Church held three masses attended by Catholic faithful both online and offline.
On Friday, April 18, thousands of people witnessed a creative Stations of the Cross procession at the Jakarta Cathedral Church. The procession depicted the last moments of Jesus Christ's life in the world through theatrical or accompanying dramas as part of the Easter celebrations.
This year, the Cathedral Church presented a creative Stations of the Cross titled Mater Purissima. "The Creative Stations of the Cross is titled Mater Purissima, which means the Most Pure Mother and it is a drama accompanied by motion and music," said the Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Cathedral Church, Susyana Suwadie, on location on Friday.
According to Susyana, the theme of the Stations of the Cross usually follows the story of the last days of Christ as conveyed in the Holy Gospel. This year, she said, the Stations of the Cross still follows the Gospel, but from the perspective of Mother Mary.
