TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian railway company, KAI, noted a surge in the number of LRT Jabodebek users at several integrated stations during the Eid al-Fitr holiday season this year.
The growth is said to reflect the role of LRT Jabodebek as a connector to other transportation services like the Commuter Line, MRT Jakarta, Whoosh high-speed rail, and intercity buses at the Kampung Rambutan Terminal.
The Executive Vice President of LRT Jabodebek, Mochamad Purnomosidi, believes that the surge reflects public trust in integrated public transport services.
"LRT Jabodebek provides a solution for people who want to travel comfortably and efficiently, especially in accessing other modes of transportation," he said in an official statement quoted on Monday, March 31, 2025.
Based on data from March 21 to 29, five main integrated stations experienced an increase in the number of users compared to the same period in the previous year. The Dukuh Atas BNI station recorded 155,363 tap in and tap out users, up 24.68 percent from the previous year.
Meanwhile, the Cikoko station saw an increase of 19.88 percent to 86,449 users. The Cawang station logged 30.92 percent growth to 50,845 users. The highest increase occurred at the Kampung Rambutan station with 45.38 percent to 22,621 users.
The Halim station also experienced an uptake of 1.10 percent to 18,959 users.
The significant increase at the Dukuh Atas BNI station is due to its connection with the Basoetta BNI City Commuter Line station, the Sudirman Commuter Line station, and the MRT Jakarta Dukuh Atas BNI station.
Meanwhile, the surge at the LRT Jabodebek Kampung Rambutan station is due to the volume of homecoming travelers continuing their journey to the Kampung Rambutan Terminal.
