TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - In today's digital era, many creators rely on social media platforms as a source of income. One of those platforms is Facebook, which has now become an option for earning money.

However, many creators find that their content does not meet the requirements for monetization, even though they have met the basic criteria. So why does Facebook content fail to be monetized? This article will discuss the key points why content fails to make a profit.

Why Can't My Facebook Content Be Monetized?

Before delving deeper, it is important to understand that Facebook has fairly strict policies regarding content monetization. Programs such as In-Stream Ads and Subscriptions require content creators to not only be active, but also to comply with the rules set by Facebook. Here are the reasons why your Facebook content might not be monetizable.

1. Failure to Meet Eligibility Standards

One of the reasons why content fails to be monetized is due to violations of Facebook's Monetization Eligibility Standards. This includes many things such as content, audience interaction, and account violation history.

For example, videos containing hate speech, violence, or even misleading clickbait videos can be immediately disqualified from in-stream ads.

In addition, users' accounts must also have a clean track record. Content that has been flagged as a copyright violation or contains material reported as a "hoax" can have a long-term impact on monetization eligibility.

2. Inconsistent Activity and Engagement

Another factor is the lack of engagement and consistency in content publication. Facebook evaluates an account's overall performance, not based on just one or two posts.

If an account is rarely active or has a low audience engagement rate, Facebook's algorithm will deem the account unsuitable for monetization, even if the user's follower count seems sufficient to enable monetization.

3. Technical Barriers

In addition to content and engagement factors, technical barriers can also be a reason why your content cannot be monetized. For example, errors in page settings and accounts not being set as a "page" (business page).

4. Lack of Transparency from Facebook's Review System

Although Facebook provides a professional dashboard for content creators, the monetization review mechanism often does not provide detailed explanations when certain content is rejected.

Creators only receive notifications that the video does not meet the requirements or regulations, without clear technical reasons. If this is the case, it can certainly cause frustration and difficulty in improving content for creators on Facebook.

Tips to Make Facebook Content Eligible for Monetization

Here are some steps that can be followed to make content monetizable:

- Understand and comply with Facebook's Monetization Standards, read the community guidelines or Facebook regulations for content to be monetizable.

- Convert the account into a page, as Monetization is only available for Facebook Pages, not personal accounts. So, create a page for creators to monetize content.

- Meet the minimum monetization requirements, such as having 10,000 followers on the page, 600,000 total minutes of views for all content in the last 60 days.

- At least 5 active videos on the page.

- Reside in a country that supports Facebook monetization.

For creator stars feature:

- Minimum of 500 followers.

- Active in the last 30 days.

- No violations in the content or creator page.

Also, remember to avoid using copyrighted content such as music, animations, and others. Many creators fail to monetize because they use popular music without a license.

Ultimately, monetization on Facebook is not just about meeting technical requirements, but also about building a reputation and credibility as a creator.

In the midst of an increasingly competitive digital landscape, consistency and compliance with policies are not only the key to earning income, but also the foundation for survival and growth in this constantly evolving ecosystem.
