TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi stated that there will be no reshuffle in President Prabowo Subianto's Red and White Cabinet. He denied rumors that Muhammad Chatib Basri would replace Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa as Finance Minister.
"There are no plans to replace the Finance Minister. We have stated this many times that there are no plans for a reshuffle," he said at the House of Representatives complex in Jakarta on Monday, June 8, 2026.
Recently, news of a change in finance ministers has become a topic of public discussion, along with the weakening rupiah exchange rate. Chatib Basri, an economist and former Finance Minister, is one of the names that have surfaced.
Prasetyo asked the public not to speculate or link the reshuffle issue to the names of certain figures. The president, he said, would definitely inform the public about the cabinet reshuffle.
"It's not just one ministry. If the president feels there needs to be a refresh or change, he will announce it in due course," said the Gerindra Party politician.
He stated that the current situation in Indonesia requires close, intensive coordination among the Finance Ministry, Bank Indonesia, and the Financial Services Authority (OJK). Furthermore, the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy and its subordinate ministers are also deemed to require more intensive coordination.
