TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The prosecutor has detained three former officials of Indonesia's National Nutrition Agency (BGN) after they were named as suspects in the alleged corruption case of managing the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program for the period of 2025-2026.The three suspects are former Head of BGN Dadan Hindayana and two former deputies, Retired Police Inspector General Sony Sonjaya and Retired Lieutenant General of the Indonesian National Armed Forces Lodewyk Pusung.
Deputy Director of Special Crimes Investigation at the Attorney General's Office (AGO), Syarief Sulaiman Nahdi, stated that the investigators will detain them for 20 days in different detention centers. "The suspects will be detained for 20 days at the Salemba Detention Center Branch of the Attorney General's Office and the South Jakarta District Attorney's Office," said Syarief at the Attorney General's Office on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
The investigators escorted Dadan, Sony, and Lodewyk to the detention vehicle wearing light pink prisoner vests. They remained silent when the media asked questions.
The suspects were named and detained less than 24 hours after the government removed them from their positions at BGN.Syarief stated that the suspects allegedly controlled a number of foundations managing the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) or MBG kitchens through others to obtain unlawful profits.
Furthermore, the Attorney General's Office also found indications of deviations in several procurement projects at BGN. According to Syarief, the suspects intervened with the Procurement Officer (PPK) which led to the procurement of goods and services at BGN, as outlined in the Terms of Reference (KAK), not meeting actual needs in the field and causing suspected price mark-ups.
The alleged fraudulent procurements included the acquisition of 21,801 electric motor units valued at approximately Rp1 trillion, the acquisition of 32,000 pairs of shoes, the acquisition of 31,994 tablets, and the acquisition of 5,400 75-inch televisions.
For their actions, the investigators have charged the three suspects with Article 603 subsider to Article 604 juncto Article 20 letter a or letter c of the Criminal Code Law juncto Article 18 of the Corruption Criminal Act.
