TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's Public Works Ministry has completed 222 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) facilities, which serve as kitchens for President Prabowo Subianto's Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program, across 30 provinces, Minister Dody Hanggodo said.
According to him, this number includes SPPG buildings in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions.
"We have completed construction on around 222 SPPGs. Some are also in 3T areas. So, we are coordinating directly with the National Agency for National Development Planning (BGN) and the Ministry of Home Affairs. We are only surveying to see if the land can be built immediately. Because we are also working on targets," Dody said in a statement in Jakarta on Sunday.
He explained that the location for the Free Nutritional Meal Kitchen (MBG) was determined based on coordination with the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) and the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri).
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Works is tasked with conducting land readiness surveys and expediting the construction process to meet the established targets.
He stated that the asset handover process to BGN is currently underway. Before officially accepting the facility, the National Food Security Agency (BGN) will likely inspect each SPPG facility to ensure it is ready for use.
"We are currently in the handover process with BGN. BGN will likely inspect each facility individually. But overall, everything is complete," he said.
Furthermore, Dody revealed that his office plans to coordinate with the new BGN leadership in the near future to ensure the optimal utilization and operation of all SPPGs.
The presence of these facilities is expected to expand the reach of nutritious food services for the community, including in areas that currently have limited access.
The construction of SPPGs in the 3T (Underdeveloped and Remote Areas) includes two SPPGs at the Wini State Border Post (PLBN) and the Motamasin PLBN in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) to meet the urgent need for nutrition services, including in border areas.
The SPPG at the Wini PLBN is built on 1,408.63 m² of land in North Central Timor Regency, while the SPPG at the Motamasin PLBN is built on 1,469.12 m² of land in Malaka Regency.
The SPPG, built by the Ministry of Public Works, features a main kitchen, a washing area for tools and food ingredients, dry and wet warehouses, equipment storage, parking, a clean water network, and a wastewater treatment plant (IPAL) to ensure cleanliness standards and environmental sustainability.
In addition, supporting infrastructure such as a panel room, a waste disposal site (TPS), and other supporting facilities are also available.
