Indonesia, Bosnia Agree on Economic Cooperation to Boost Welfare

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono received an honorary visit from the Bosnia and Herzegovina Ambassador to Indonesia, Armin Limo, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFa) office in Jakarta on Thursday, May 22, 2025.

Sugiono and Limo discussed various aspects of the well-established bilateral relationship between the two countries.

As reported in the official statement from MoFA, Sugiono and Limo discussed the potential for economic cooperation to bolster welfare, including opportunities for trade cooperation. During the meeting, Sugiono encouraged business entities from both countries to review the chances of expanding the market access of Indonesian products in Bosnia. 

The meeting between Sugiono and Limo also discussed consular cooperation efforts to intensify people-to-people contacts between the two countries. Additionally, the Indonesian and Bosnian diplomats discussed coordination efforts in addressing global issues of mutual interest through cooperation in multilateral forums.

Regarding the framework of cooperation in strategic sectors, Sugiono and Limo discussed Bosnia's participation plan in IndoDefence 2025 on June 11-14, 2025, in Jakarta, which serves as a forum for further exploring the technical-military and defense cooperation between the two countries.

Based on MoFa's records, the total trade value between Indonesia and Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2024 reached US$12.8 million, with an upward post-pandemic trend.
