TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Authority of Nusantara Capital City (IKN) is targeting the construction of an office complex in the new capital city to be completed by mid-2025. Currently, said Secretary of the IKN Authority Bimo Adi Nursanthyasto, the State Palace, Garuda Palace, ceremonial field, and State Secretariat building can also be used and equipped with supporting buildings.
"The Palace area, Coordinating Ministry, Ministry of State Secretariat, and its ecosystem are targeted for completion in June 2025," said Bimo during a meeting with Commission II of the DPR on Tuesday, April 22, 2024, quoted from an official statement.
While the construction of the office ecosystem continues to progress, Bimo said that there are already a number of supporting facilities in the area. Starting from minimarkets, restaurants, ATMs, vending machines, to post offices, which are available in both office and residential areas.
Bimo said that the IKN area is designed to be an integrated center of government and economic activity. Therefore, the development of a supporting ecosystem, starting from offices, housing, transportation facilities and social facilities and infrastructure, is a top priority along with the plan to move state civil servants (ASN) to the IKN.
Furthermore, regarding the readiness of housing, Bimo said that there are already 36 ministerial houses, 17 ASN housing towers, 5 Paspamres housing towers, 2 Polri housing towers, and 2 State Intelligence Agency (BIN) housing towers. He claimed that these housing units can already be used.
According to Bimo, if the construction of 47 ASN housing towers in the IKN is completed, it can be used to accommodate 8,410 employees. In addition, the IKN Authority also plans to build 30 towers by 2028 with a capacity of 5,400 employees. "So, the total (capacity) is around 13,810 (employees)," he said.
However, ASN who are currently ready to work in the IKN are only Authority employees who have moved since March 1, 2025. The plan is that the IKN Authority will also bring 582 employees.
The plan to move ASN to the IKN in general has not yet been resolved. The planned transfer that was scheduled during President Jokowi's administration has been postponed several times until it has not been realized until now.
Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan-RB) Rini Widyantini said that there had been no direction from President Prabowo Subianto to move ASN to the IKN. The delay in the transfer of ASN to the IKN, which was previously scheduled for October 2024, occurred due to changes in the posture of ministries and institutions along with the start of the new government.
Her ministry also plans to re-screen ASN who will be transferred. "There are new dynamics. This process requires adjustments to the organizational structure in ministries and institutions. In 2026 we will conduct a re-screening so that this transfer process is in line with national priorities," said Rini during a meeting with Commission II of the House of Representatives at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Tuesday, April 22, 2025.
