TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) spokesperson, Budi Prasetyo, confirmed that his side grilled two former leaders of PT Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GoTo) on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. They were questioned regarding an alleged corruption case involving the procurement of Google Cloud services at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek).
The two former leaders are Melissa Siska Juminto, who served as GoTo's former Director from 2021-2024, and Andre Soelistyo, the company's former CEO. "Yes, that's correct. In the investigation of the case, today they were summoned to provide information to the parties suspected of knowing the construction of this case," Budi said while at the KPK's Red and White building in South Jakarta on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
Budi confirmed that both former leaders were present for today’s interrogation. However, he declined to provide more details about their status because the case is still in its investigative phase. "Certainly, this will also complement the information needed in the investigation process," he said.
Budi also explained GoTo's involvement in the alleged corruption case. He stated that the company had a connection to the procurement process and mechanisms for Google Cloud at Kemendikbudristek during that time.
The anti-graft agency has also confirmed that Nadiem Makarim, who was the highest official at Kemendikbudristek at the time, made the decision to procure Google Cloud. This decision was made during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Certainly, the one who decides on procurement, including Google Cloud, is at the top of the leadership," said the Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK, Asep Guntur Rahayu, on Thursday, July 31, 2025.
Asep mentioned that the KPK would soon summon Nadiem to provide information about the case. However, before that, the KPK would gather information from his subordinates, including his former special staff, Fiona Handayani, who was questioned on July 30, 2025.
"For the top leadership, in this case Pak NM (Nadiem Makarim), at the right time, he will be asked for information about the procurement of Google Cloud," Asep stated.
Currently, there are two alleged corruption cases at Kemendikbudristek being investigated by two different legal institutions. The first is a corruption case involving the procurement of Chromebooks, which is being handled by the Attorney General's Office. The second is the procurement of Google Cloud, which is under KPK investigation.
