TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Music promoter Plainsong Live has officially canceled Joyland Festival 2025, which was scheduled to take place in Jakarta on November 28, 29, and 30.
"After much thought and consideration, we've made the difficult decision that Joyland Festival will not take place this year as originally planned," the organizer wrote on its Instagram account on Monday, August 11, 2025.
Blind Tickets Were Already on Sale
Although the lineup had not yet been announced, tickets had already been sold under the Blind Ticket category.
"This was not an easy decision. Joyland means a lot to our team, our community, and all the people who have come together to make it happen. But for 2025, we choose to take a step back in order to stay true to our identity and respect the experience that we believe should be provided by Joyland," the announcement added.
Plainsong Live also mentioned they are currently exploring new directions and hope to return with future events.
"In the meantime, we’re exploring new ways for Joyland to grow, as we take this time to rebuild something even more meaningful for the future," they stated.
Refund Information
Plainsong Live has assured that full refunds will be provided for all ticket buyers. However, the refund will not be processed automatically.
"Please note: refunds are not processed automatically -- you must follow the refund request steps to receive your refund," the post read.
Ticket holders will receive an email with detailed instructions on how to request a refund. Refund applications must be submitted between August 11 and 31, 2025. Requests submitted after this period will not be processed.
The refunds cover Blind Ticket purchases made since March 28, 2025, including both 3-Day Pass and VIP 3-Day Pass categories.
Background of Joyland Festival
According to Wikipedia, Joyland Festival was initially held from 2011 to 2013. It then went on hiatus until 2019, when Ferry Dharmawan revived it under the Plainsong Live banner. After being held once, the event was paused again due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In 2022, the festival made its return in both Jakarta and Bali, with Bali marking the first time Joyland was held outside of the capital.
