TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Religious Affairs Minister, Nasaruddin Umar, conveyed that Saudi Arabia has almost completed the preparation process for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims. The statement was made by the Minister upon returning to the country after a working visit to Jordan.
From Jordan, the minister was on a visit to Saudi Arabia to review preparations for the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage. Nasaruddin mentioned that in general, the services in Saudi Arabia are prepared to welcome the Hajj pilgrims.
"Alhamdulillah, for the Hajj, Makkah and Madinah are almost 100 percent completed," said Nasaruddin at Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport, Jakarta, as quoted from the Ministry of Religious Affairs' official statement, on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.
While in Saudi Arabia, Nasaruddin stated that they had held a coordination meeting with the Hajj Pilgrimage Organizer Committee (PPIH) in Saudi Arabia. He stated that this year, the government had indeed implemented several efficiency measures in organizing the Hajj pilgrimage.
Despite the lower cost, he claimed that the service quality would not suffer. "Cheap doesn't mean the service is lacking. On the contrary, we will provide the best service at a very affordable price," he said.
He also claimed that Indonesia has been known as the best Hajj organizer, with a very low level of pilgrim violations. "This is acknowledged by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia itself. One-fifth of the world's Hajj pilgrims come from Indonesia, but the violation rate is very low. That's something to be proud of," he stated.
Nasaruddin hoped that the services and the implementation of the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage would run successfully. "We ask for prayers and support from the entire Indonesian people for the smooth, safe, and blessed implementation of this year's Hajj pilgrimage," he said.
