TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia will field 21 representatives at the HSBC BWF World Tour Super 1000 Indonesia Open 2026, which will take place at Istora Gelora Bung Karno in Jakarta from June 2 to 7.
The mixed doubles discipline contributes the largest contingent, with seven pairs competing in front of the home crowd. They are Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu, Amri Syahnawi/Nita Violina Marwah, Adnan Maulana/Indah Cahya Sari Jamil, Marwan Faza/Aisyah Salsabila Putri Pranata, Dejan Ferdinansyah/Bernadine Anindya Wardani, Bobby Setiabudi/Melati Daeva Oktavianti, and Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja.
Indonesia will also send six men's doubles pairs: Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani, Raymond Indra/Nikolaus Joaquin, Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin, Muhammad Rian Ardianto/Rahmat Hidayat, and Ali Faathir Rayhan/Devin Artha Wahyudi.
In women's doubles, the host nation will be represented by Rachel Allessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum, Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Meilysa Trias Puspitasari, Isyana Syahira Meida/Rinjani Kwinara Nastine, Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti/Amallia Cahya Pratiwi, and Apriani Rahayu/Lanny Tria Mayasari.
The men's singles field features two Indonesian players, Jonatan Christie and Alwi Farhan, while Putri Kusuma Wardani will be the country's sole representative in women's singles.
The Indonesia Open 2026 will feature 248 athletes from 22 countries competing for a total prize purse of US$1.45 million (approximately Rp25.8 billion).
Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) Deputy Chairman Taufik Hidayat said the Indonesia Open holds special significance for home players, as competing at Istora tests not only technical ability but also mental strength.
"The Indonesia Open always has a special place. Playing in Istora is not just about technical abilities, but also about courage, mental strength, and readiness to face pressure from the home crowd. That's what makes this tournament different," Taufik said, as quoted by Antara on Monday, June 1.
The six-time Indonesia Open champion said local players should make the most of the opportunity to compete at one of badminton's most prestigious tournaments, both to gain experience and to measure themselves against the world's best.
