TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The latest season of Dubai's biggest cultural and entertainment event, the Global Village, kicked off on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. Located on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, the event will run for seven months until May 10, 2026. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the event, which is expected to be the most elaborate edition since its inception in 1996 at Dubai Creek.
As reported by Travel and Leisure Asia, the opening celebration commenced at 18:00 local time with a spectacular show. Highlights included the "Parade of the World," winged skydivers forming the number 30 in the sky with pyrotechnics, a drone show, and a confetti explosion in front of the Gate of the World.
Cultural Pavilions and Attractions
This annual event features international pavilions, global cuisines, cultural performances, game rides, and entertainment from diverse countries. This year, the Global Village has expanded its lineup with new pavilions representing Jordan, Iraq, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. These additions complement the existing pavilions from Asia, Europe, America, Africa, and the Middle East.
Visitors can shop at the bazaars, which showcase products from participating countries, ranging from Iranian carpets and Japanese Kabuki masks to Kashmir shawls and calligraphy-themed Arab jewelry.
For food enthusiasts, over 200 restaurants and food stalls serve a variety of world cuisines, including the new Fiesta Street area, which features two-story stalls blending flavors and entertainment.
For adrenaline seekers, The Carnaval offers more than 190 rides and 125 games, while the EXO Planet City presents futuristic experiences such as a Mirror Maze, the Galaxy Hunter simulator, and the Vortex Tunnel.
Operating Hours and Ticket Information
The previous season of Global Village recorded 10.5 million visitors and hosted over 40,000 shows, solidifying its status as one of the most popular tourist destinations in the United Arab Emirates. As reported by Khaleej Times, management promises an even bigger scale this year, with fireworks displays, seven New Year countdowns, and new attractions to celebrate three decades of this "world carnival."
Tickets can be purchased directly through the official Global Village website. Ticket variations include:
