TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Foreign ministers from eight Muslim-majority countries, including Indonesia, expressed concern on Friday after Israel announced it would allow the Rafah border crossing to operate only one way, permitting Palestinian residents to leave the Gaza Strip.

The ministers—from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, and Qatar—cited by Antara, rejected any attempt to relocate Palestinians from their homeland.

They stressed the need for full compliance with the peace plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump.

This includes opening the Rafah crossing in both directions, ensuring freedom of movement for Gaza’s residents, and preventing the forced displacement of any inhabitants.

The ministers also highlighted the importance of creating conditions that allow the people of Gaza to remain in the territory and actively participate in rebuilding their communities.

They called for comprehensive efforts to restore stability and improve humanitarian conditions in the enclave.

While expressing appreciation for Trump’s commitment to peace in the region, the ministers urged the swift and unhindered implementation of the plan to promote security, peace, and regional stability.

They also emphasized the need for a full ceasefire, the protection of Palestinian civilians, unhindered access to humanitarian aid, early recovery and reconstruction efforts, and the restoration of the Palestinian Authority’s responsibilities in Gaza.

The ministers confirmed their readiness to coordinate with all relevant parties to ensure the full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2803 and other related resolutions.

They underscored that these efforts should aim toward a fair, comprehensive, and sustainable peace based on UN resolutions and the Two-State Solution.

They viewed these measures as essential steps toward establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, along the borders of June 4, 1967, including territories occupied by Israel in Gaza and the West Bank.
