TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - US President Donald Trump has criticized climate activist Greta Thunberg. Trump stated that Greta Thunberg has difficulty controlling her anger and needs to see a doctor.

Trump's comments came after Greta Thunberg was detained and deported by Israel, following her participation in the Global Sumud Flotilla to Gaza. Trump labelled Thunberg as a troublemaker. He expressed his astonishment that as a young person, Greta Thunberg is an angry person and has trouble in managing her anger.

"She (Greta Thunberg) is just a troublemaker... she's no longer into the environment now. She's a troublemaker. She has an anger management problem. I think she should see a doctor...Have you ever watched her? She's a young person. She's so angry, she's so crazy... She's just a troublemaker," said Trump quoted from NDTV.

As reported by Al Jazeera, Swedish activist Greta Thunberg has arrived in Greece along with 160 other campaigners from the Global Sumud Flotilla, after being deported by Israel.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry stated on Monday that a total of 171 Global Sumud Flotilla activists were deported after being intercepted last week while attempting to bring aid to Gaza. The number of volunteers deported is now 341.

The Israeli forces intercepted the Global Sumud Flotilla on Friday when more than 40 of its ships tried to break the naval blockade in Gaza. Around 450 people were detained, including Thunberg, four French parliament members, and other international activists, as reported by TPS.

Israel stated that the ships did not carry aid and accused the participants of seeking confrontation instead of providing humanitarian aid. "Their real intention is provocation for the benefit of Hamas," the ministry said. These accusations were strongly denied by the Global Sumud Flotilla.

Greta Thunberg Speaks Out After Being Released by Israel

Following her release from an Israeli prison, Swedish activist Greta Thunberg spoke publicly for the first time on Monday, October 6, 2025. Other activists reported that she was beaten and forced to kiss the Israeli flag.

Thunberg was among 171 people deported by Israeli authorities after being detained for participating in the aid flotilla Global Sumud Flotilla to Gaza. As reported by Anadolu, the group was flown to Greece and Slovakia after being released.

Thunberg spoke at Eleftherios Venizelos Airport in Athens. "I could talk for a very long time about the abuse and violations we experienced in prison, trust me," Thunberg said.

"But that is not the story. Let me be very clear: there is a genocide going on in front of our very eyes, a live-streamed genocide," she said.

"No one has the privilege to say we are not aware of what's happening. No one in the future will be able to say we did not know," she said.

Greta Thunberg accused Israel of continuing to worsen and escalate the genocide and their mass destruction with the intent of genocide and attempting to destroy the population. "We cannot take our eyes away from Gaza, from all the places of the world that are suffering, living on the forefront of this business-as-usual system: Congo, Sudan, Afghanistan, Gaza and many, many more. What we are doing is the bare minimum," she said.

"I will never comprehend how humans can be so evil. That you would deliberately starve millions of people living trapped under an illegal siege as a continuation of decades of oppression and apartheid," she said.
