TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's sovereign wealth fund and strategic investment management institution, Danantara, has designated 8 partners to develop and manage the Waste to Electricity Project (PSEL) phase II in 8 locations. Fadli Rahman, the Director of Investment PT Danantara Investment Management and Chief Executive Officer of PT Daya Energi Bersih Nusantara (Denera), stated that the project value in each location reaches Rp3-3.5 trillion. "This means that in these 8 locations, it will amount to Rp24-25 trillion," he said at Wisma Danantara, Jakarta, on Monday, July 13, 2026.

The selected partners are a consortium of foreign and local companies. The foreign companies come from France, Japan, and China, among others.

They were selected from a pool of 85 companies that made it to the shortlist in May. Fadli stated that the construction process will be closely monitored and regularly reported to all stakeholders. "We will also form a special team to monitor the construction, construction preparations, and construction on a regular basis," he said.

Here is the list of consortium companies that have been selected to work on the PSEL project in 8 locations:

1. SUEZ-IAN Consortium (SUEZ Insan Asia): Medan Raya

2. Consortium Everbright Cemerlang Energy (Everbright Harmoni): Bekasi Regency

3. Bumi Biru Indonesia (SUS Indoplas): Lampung Raya

4. Masa Depan Energi Indonesia (Chandra Waste Energy BGE): Serang Raya

5. Veolia Environmental Services Asia Pte. Ltd (Veolia): Semarang Raya

6. Consortium Mentari Citra Lestari (Bakrie Power SUS): Surabaya Raya

7. MPM-CEVIA Consortium (Mega Power CEVIA): Bogor Raya 2

Fadli Rahman stated that the facility standards to be built will apply emission standards from Europe. This approach is the same as PSEL in Denpasar Raya, the construction of which began on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

Chief Executive Officer PT Danantara Investment Management, Pandu Patria Sjahrir, stated that 4 out of the 8 selected partners are consortia led by Indonesian companies. Then, 2 consortia are led by French companies and 2 consortia are led by Chinese companies.

All consortia have engaged international technology partners to expedite project implementation and promote technology transfer. "We see this as an opportunity to accelerate technology transfer, build national capacity, and strengthen the waste management industry ecosystem in Indonesia," said Pandu.
