BMKG Weather Forecast: Most of Greater Jakarta to Experience Rain Starting in the Afternoon

The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek, or Greater Jakarta Area) areas are likely to experience light to moderate rainfall from this afternoon until tonight, Tuesday, August 12, 2025. There will also be some light rain in the morning.

According to the latest weather forecast from BMKG, light rain accompanied by thunder is expected to fall in West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, and East Jakarta from 07:00 AM to 10:00 AM. After a brief lull and thick cloud cover, rain will resume at 04:00 PM.

Similar weather conditions are anticipated in North Jakarta, occurring at approximately the same times-07:00 AM and 04:00 PM. Meanwhile, the possibility of sustained light rain in Thousand Islands is from 07:00 AM until this evening.

The air temperature in Jakarta is estimated to range from 23-29 degrees Celsius, with wind speeds of approximately 1-10 kilometers per hour. With the potential for high rainfall, the air humidity levels in Jabodetabek throughout today range from 64-98 percent.

In West Java, light to moderate rain is likely in Bogor Regency, Bogor City, Depok City, Bekasi Regency, and Bekasi City. The occasional thunder accompanied by rain is expected to be widespread from 07:00 AM to 04:00 PM, while in Bogor, the rain will continue until 07:00 PM.

The temperature in Bogor Regency is around 18-31 degrees Celsius throughout the day, lower than the temperatures in Depok, Bekasi, and Bogor City, which range from 19-30 degrees Celsius. The wind speed in these areas is around 4-10 kilometers per hour.

In Banten, light rain accompanied by thunder is expected to fall in Tangerang Regency, Tangerang City, and South Tangerang in the morning and afternoon. The temperature in these three areas is estimated to range from 23-30 degrees Celsius.
