TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Singapore Grand Prix delivered a mix of triumph and tension for McLaren. The team secured their 10th Constructors’ Championship title, but the celebration was somewhat overshadowed by a notable clash between teammates Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris on the opening lap.

The incident saw Norris finish third and Piastri finish fourth, which cut into Piastri's lead in the battle for his maiden Formula One World Championship. The Australian now maintains a 22-point advantage over Norris with six rounds remaining in the 2025 season. This narrow gap promises an intense fight over the final races, starting with the US Grand Prix in Austin on October 19, according to a report by The Standard.

Other drivers, like Max Verstappen, remain mathematically in contention. After winning at Monza and Baku, the Red Bull driver now holds third place in the standings with 273 points. However, a 63-point gap to Piastri means securing his fifth world title this season is highly unlikely.

Meanwhile, George Russell delivered a dominant victory at the 2025 Singapore Grand Prix, leading comfortably for all 62 laps. As reported by ON SI, the win marked a career milestone for the Mercedes driver, especially after his heartbreaking crash on the final lap of the 2023 Singapore GP while running in a podium position.

  8. Alex Albon (Williams) - 70 points

  9. Isack Hadjar (Racing Bulls) - 39 points

  10. Nico Hulkenberg (Sauber) - 37 points

While the Drivers’ Championship battle remains fierce, McLaren has little to worry about in the Constructors’ standings. With 650 points, precisely double the total of their nearest rival, Mercedes, the team has guaranteed the title with six races to spare.

The fight for second, third, and fourth in the Constructor’s Championship, however, is expected to go down to the wire, with the battle between Mercedes, Ferrari, and Red Bull likely to be decided at the season finale in Abu Dhabi.
