Green House at The Alana Sentul City.

Event Info - The Alana Hotel & Conference – Sentul City shows a real commitment to environmental preservation by launching a program to process organic waste into compost. This initiative makes Alana Sentul a pioneer of an environmentally friendly lifestyle in the Bogor hotel industry.

Every day, kitchen waste from restaurants and hotel operations is collected separately. Leftover food, fruit peels, vegetables, and other organic materials are not simply thrown away, but are processed using an environmentally friendly composting method. The result of this process is organic fertilizer which is then used to fertilize the garden in the hotel area.

Alana Sentul's organic garden grows various types of vegetables and tropical fruits such as tomatoes, chilies, spinach, kale, and lemongrass. The harvest from this garden is reused in the hotel's daily menu, while strengthening the zero food waste concept promoted by the management.

Not only does it have an impact on the environment, this program is also part of an educational and enjoyable stay experience. Hotel guests can join a weekend program called Green Journey, where they are invited to pick their own garden produce and learn firsthand the process of processing organic waste into compost.

According to Benny Irnaldy, General Manager of The Alana Sentul, sustainability is a shared responsibility. "We want to be an example in the hospitality industry that environmental preservation can start from simple steps such as managing organic waste," he said.

In addition to supporting waste reduction and the creation of a green ecosystem, this organic garden also functions as an educational space for children and families who stay. They are invited to learn more about the importance of preserving nature from an early age.

Through this innovation, Alana Sentul is not only a comfortable place to stay, but also part of a movement of change towards a greener and more sustainable future. By continuing to collaborate with local communities, this hotel is committed to continuing to develop environmentally friendly programs and inspiring more parties to participate in preserving the earth.
