TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Singapore Night Festival is set to return from August 22 to September 6, 2025. This highly anticipated celebration of light, art, and culture will illuminate the Bras Basah.Bugis district of Singapore. This annual festival has become a special attraction for both local residents and international tourists.
Organized by HeritageSG, this year's festival is particularly special as it coincides with Singapore's 60th anniversary, as reported by Travel and Leisure Asia.
With the theme "Island Night," the festival will showcase Singapore's rich cultural heritage and stories of ownership, exchange, and connectivity that define island life.
Celebrating 60 Years of Singapore
This cultural heritage will be displayed through various light installations, art mapping works, and immersive programs. This will be an opportune moment for both local residents and tourists to explore the city-state's vibrant cultural landscape.
Visitors can also enjoy a variety of entertainment, food, retail, and stalls selling artisanal goods and local street food, catering to a wide range of preferences and interests.
One of the highly anticipated attractions at this year's Singapore Night Festival is Sky Castle at Cathay Green, created by the Australian studio ENESS. This art installation features an interactive, colorful inflatable gate that responds to the movements and actions of visitors.
Captivating Art Installations
As quoted from Travel and Tour World, visitors can also experience Kampong Chill at Capitol Singapore, designed by the New York-based artist duo Sheryo and Yok.
Kampong Chill is a tranquil space for visitors to relax and unwind while enjoying an immersive art experience that reflects the essence of island life in Singapore, blending tradition with contemporary elements in an intriguing and thought-provoking manner.
Furthermore, buildings within and around Singapore's city center will be illuminated with captivating light art, depicting stories of Singapore's island life. Visitors can also enjoy a variety of performances, carnival games, workshops, and tours that will take them on a brief journey through Singapore's history and culture.
These installations, along with other light and art exhibitions throughout the district, provide a glimpse into Singapore's vibrant culture. As part of the "Island Night" theme, these installations highlight the stories of people and communities coming together through their shared bond with the land and sea, emphasizing the importance of belonging in the ever-evolving city-state.
