TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Singapore to attend the country's National Day Parade 2025 on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at 3:40 p.m. local time.
The presidential aircraft landed at Paya Lebar Air Base (PLAB), where Prabowo was welcomed by Singapore's Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, Ambassador to Indonesia Kwok Fook Seng, Indonesia's Ambassador to Singapore Suryo Pratomo, and Defense Attaché Colonel Hendra Supriyadi.
According to an official statement from the Presidential Secretariat, Prabowo will participate in the National Day Parade events held at the National Gallery. Several other regional leaders also attended the event, including Sultan of Brunei Darussalam Hassanal Bolkiah, Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid bin Hamidi, and Crown Prince of Johor Bahru Tunku Ismail Idris.
This year's celebration, themed "Majulah Singapura," marks 60 years since Singapore's independence. Prabowo's presence is expected to strengthen cooperation between Indonesia and Singapore.
The Presidential Palace also emphasized that the visit symbolizes Indonesia's commitment to maintaining strong relations with friendly countries, particularly within the ASEAN region.
Prabowo and his limited entourage departed for Singapore from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta at approximately 1:10 p.m. Jakarta time.
He was seen off by State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Commander of the Jakarta Military Area Command Major General Deddy Suryadi, Deputy Chief of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Brigadier General Djati Wiyoto, Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base Commander Air Marshal Erwin Sugiandi, and 051 Resort Military Commander Nugroho Imam Santoso.
During his one-day visit, Prabowo was accompanied by Foreign Minister Sugiono, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Head of the Development Control and Special Investigation Agency, Aris Marsudiyanto.
Singapore's National Day Parade 2025 will be held at the Padang in Singapore, featuring thousands of participants.
