TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi revealed 4,640 traffic accident cases during the Eid al-Fitr exodus in 2025. This number decreased by 34.31 percent compared to the previous year, which reached 7,064 cases.

"Based on traffic accident data from the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps, there were 4,640 traffic accident cases during the Eid al-Fitr transportation," said Dudy during a meeting with Commission V of the House of Representatives, Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.

Among the thousands of accident cases, there were 548 fatalities reported. According to data shared by Dudy, this number represents a 55.95 percent decrease compared to Eid al-Fitr 2024, which saw 1,244 fatalities.

Additionally, the number of severely injured victims in traffic accidents was recorded at 894. This marks a 7.64 percent decrease from the previous year’s figure of 968.

The number of victims with light injuries also dropped by 28.9 percent, from 9,011 in 2024 to 6,407 during this year’s Eid al-Fitr exodus.

Material losses saw a reduction of 28.96 percent compared to last year. In Eid al-Fitr 2024, material losses amounted to Rp 15,548,818,518, but this figure dropped to Rp 11,045,864,275 during this year’s exodus.

Furthermore, Dudy shared the public satisfaction level with the Eid al-Fitr transportation service in 2025/1446 Hijriah, which reached 90.9 percent. This data came from a survey conducted by the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) in collaboration with the Kompas Research and Development Institution (Litbang Kompas).

"Based on the public satisfaction survey with the Eid al-Fitr transportation service in 2025 in collaboration with Litbang Kompas, the total satisfaction reached 90.9 percent," said the Minister of Transportation.

This indicates, according to Dudy, that the majority of respondents were either satisfied or very satisfied with the government’s efforts in ensuring smooth transportation during the Eid al-Fitr exodus and return in 2025.

In terms of modes of transport, public satisfaction with private transportation was 91.3 percent, while satisfaction with public transportation reached 90.5 percent, according to the survey results.

The Ministry of Transportation also noted that the satisfaction level with the free Eid al-Fitr exodus program stood at 92.1 percent, demonstrating the public’s strong appreciation for the government’s policy in providing safe and affordable travel options.

In addition, the policy of discounted transportation ticket prices received the highest satisfaction level at 95 percent, proving that the public positively responded to the travel cost relief program.
