TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Kylian Mbappe has become the top scorer of the 2024/2025 La Liga. He scored 31 goals for Real Madrid in his debut season with the club, far ahead of his closest rivals, Robert Lewandowski (Barcelona) with 25 goals, and Ante Budimir (Osasuna) with 21 goals.
Mbappe consistently performed throughout the season. His sharpness was evident in the El Clásico match against Barcelona, where he scored three goals, despite Real Madrid's loss. The French player also scored crucial goals in various important matches.
In addition to being the top scorer of La Liga, his 31 goals also earned Mbappe the European Golden Boot for 2025, surpassing all players in the top five European leagues. In the English Premier League, Mohamed Salah, the top scorer, only scored 29 goals. Mateo Retegui became the top scorer in the Italian Serie A with 25 goals.
Last season, Harry Kane claimed the European Golden Boot by scoring 36 goals for Bayern Munich in the German Bundesliga. This season, Kane only managed 26 goals.
Despite his sharp performance, Mbappe failed to help Real Madrid secure the championship this season. They lost out to Barcelona in the race for the La Liga title and were eliminated from the Champions League and the Copa del Rey.
