Iran Actively Seeks Compensation for U.S.-Israel Military Attack

12 hours ago 4

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that Iran is actively pursuing its right to seek compensation for the damage caused by recent military aggression from the United States and Israel.

Araghchi made the statement during a phone call with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on Tuesday, according to a report by Antara.

The two officials also discussed the bilateral relationship between Tehran and Yerevan, as well as recent developments in the region following the U.S.-Israel military offensive.

Araghchi asserted that the international community and the United Nations bear responsibility for holding the U.S. and Israel accountable for violating Iran’s national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and international laws.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran is seriously pursuing the formal recognition of the aggressors and its right to claim compensation through international institutions," Araghchi emphasized.

In response, Mirzoyan reiterated Armenia’s condemnation of the attacks and expressed support for efforts to end hostilities and ease tensions in the region.

The conflict began on June 13, when Israel launched airstrikes on Iranian territory, killing senior military figures and nuclear scientists.

Residential areas and civilian buildings were also struck, resulting in over 900 deaths, including women and children, during the 12-day war.

The United States joined the conflict on June 22 by launching airstrikes on three of Iran's key nuclear facilities: Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz.

In retaliation, Iran's military targeted strategic locations across Israeli-occupied territories, causing substantial damage. The fighting ended with the announcement of a ceasefire on June 24.
