TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian men’s national volleyball team will look to defend their gold medal at the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand, opening their campaign in Pool B against Myanmar on Monday, December 15, at 10:00 AM WIB.
According to Antara, the men’s volleyball Pool B features only three teams after Cambodia withdrew from the tournament, leaving Indonesia, Myanmar, and the Philippines to battle for the two semifinal spots.
Indonesia will conclude their group stage with a match against the Philippines on Tuesday, December 16, at 12:30 PM WIB.
Road to Gold Defense
The Indonesian squad enters the competition with a strong winning record, having clinched three consecutive gold medals in the past three SEA Games. Overall, the team has secured 12 gold medals across 24 SEA Games appearances.
Guided by experienced coach Jeff Jiang Jie, the Red and White will rely on key players such as Rivan Nurmulki, Hendra Kurniawan, Fahri Septian Putratama, Jasen Nathanael, Agil Angga Anggara, and Boy Arnez Arabi to maintain their dominance.
The roster also features fresh talents, including young players Daffa Naufal Mauluddani and Kristoforus Sina, who are expected to add new energy to the lineup.
However, standout outside hitter Farhan Halim, a crucial figure in the previous SEA Games campaign, is confirmed to miss this year’s event.
