TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian E-Commerce Association (idEA) is confident that the National Online Shopping Day (Harbolnas) 2025 will remain a highly effective public consumption event, despite the increasing number of discount programs held throughout the year by various platforms.
"The prominent name of Harbolnas, with all the big promos offered, certainly makes it the most anticipated moment for the public to fulfill their needs for dream products," said idEA Chair Hilmi Adrianto in an idEA press release on Thursday, December 4, 2025.
Hilmi noted that Harbolnas 2025 involves a wide range of business actors with superior products, from MSMEs to large and small e-commerce platforms.
According to Hilmi, the primary appeal for consumers is the simultaneous execution of promos by all participants.
"Only during Harbolnas are the promos conducted simultaneously by all participants, coupled with the full and all-out support of the government," he stated.
Throughout the event, various business actors, e-commerce platforms, and banks will collaborate to offer significant discounts of up to 90 percent, especially for superior local products. This program is expected to help business actors increase sales while providing opportunities for consumers to obtain products at affordable prices.
To ensure credible recording results, transactions during Harbolnas 2025 will be monitored by Nielsen IQ.
In preparation for the event, idEA partnered with several organizations, including Lazada, Canva, Blibli, TikTok Shop by Tokopedia, Shopee, and various banks, to hold training sessions. These included offline training in cities like Yogyakarta and Surabaya, as well as online training focusing on improving product quality and marketing strategies for digital business actors.
Harbolnas 2025 will run for seven days, from December 10 to 16. idEA and the government are once again featuring a dedicated discount period for local products throughout the event. The Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Trade are directly overseeing the execution of Harbolnas 2025.
Economic Impact and Targets
The national economy, which saw annual growth of 5.04 percent (yoy) in the third quarter of 2025, is expected to provide a strong foundation for boosting transactions during this annual shopping event.
Previously, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto projected that Harbolnas 2025 could drive the Indonesian economy even higher. The transaction target for this year's event is predicted to reach Rp 35 trillion, representing an increase of 12.2 percent compared to last year's Harbolnas achievements.
