TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A total of 17 new flights were operated during the Eid al-Fitr homecoming flow in 2025 following the increased demand for air travel at airports managed by PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports). The new flights include both domestic and international destinations.
"During the peak season (Eid), air travel demand has significantly increased compared to regular days," said the CEO of InJourney Airports, Faik Fahmi, in a written statement on Saturday, April 5, 2025.
Faik stated that one of InJourney Airports' strategies to meet this increased demand is to collaborate with airlines to strengthen flight connectivity. Flight connectivity is enhanced, among others, by opening new flights by airlines on both domestic and international routes. "In line with this, InJourney Airports, together with airlines, has opened new flights during this year's Eid transportation," said Faik.
InJourney Airports, according to Faik, collaborates with airlines and is supported by the State-Owned Enterprises Ministry and the Ministry of Transportation, to ensure that the public's air travel demand can always be fulfilled.
Faik Fahmi ensures the availability of flight time slots at airports, where all 37 standby airports operate 24 hours a day, adapting to airline operations.
Here are the airlines that have opened new flights at InJourney Airports during the midst of the Eid transportation in 2025:
I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali Airport
Airlines have opened new flights on international and domestic routes at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport.
On international routes, Transnusa airline opened the Denpasar - Perth (Australia) flight on March 20, 2025, with a frequency of 3 flights per week. Then, Indonesia AirAsia opened the Denpasar - Darwin (Australia) flight on March 22, 2025 (3 times per week). Next, Saudia airline opened the Denpasar - Singapore flight starting March 30, 2025 (3 times per week). After that, Thai Lion Air opened the Denpasar - Bangkok flight starting April 3, 2025 (4 times per week).
Meanwhile, on domestic routes, Garuda Indonesia opened the Denpasar - Labuan Bajo flight on March 30, 2025 (3 times per week), and Lion Air opened the Denpasar - Palangkaraya flight starting March 21, 2025 (4 times per week)
Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang
Batik Air opened the Jakarta - Palembang flight starting March 21, 2025 (7 times per week).
Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Palembang Airport
Starting March 21, 2025, Batik Air opened the Palembang - Jakarta flight (7 times per week).
Juanda Surabaya Airport
China Southern airline opened the Surabaya - Guangzhou (China) flight starting March 21, 2025 (4 times per week).
Sam Ratulangi Manado Airport
On March 21, 2025, Wings Air opened the Manado - Gorontalo flight (4 times per week). Transnusa airline also opened charter flights Manado - Nanjing (China) on March 30, 2025, April 4, 2025, April 10, 2025, April 14, 2025, April 20, 2025, and April 25, 2025.
Tjilik Riwut Palangkaraya Airport
Lion Air opened the Palangkaraya - Denpasar flight on March 21, 2025 (4 times per week), then on March 22, 2025, opened the Palangkaraya - Makassar (4 times per week) and Palangkaraya - Lombok (7 times per week).

In welcoming the Eid al-Fitr transportation in 2025, a total of 10 airlines have opened 17 new flight routes at 9 InJourney Airports managed. "Through the increasingly strong flight connectivity, InJourney Airports can support the smoothness of Eid transportation for both the homecoming and return flows," said Faik.
