TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes, Febrie Adriansyah, arrived at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Detention Center in South Jakarta on Friday, July 24, 2026. The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has decided to detain Febrie in the case of alleged corruption and money laundering at PT Asabri.
According to Tempo's observation, Febrie arrived at the KPK detention center at 11:22 p.m. Jakarta time in a green AGO car. He did not wear a pink detainee vest an did not appear to be handcuffed.
When asked why, he responded briefly with, "Oh, of course not. Didn't wear the vest, did I," while pointing to the collar of his gray long-sleeved batik shirt.
Meanwhile, Deputy Attorney General for Supervision Rudi Margono explained that Febrie was not given the detainee vest because it was nearly midnight. "We were rushing and it's late at night," he said.
AGO has issued a new Letter of Investigation to investigate the alleged money laundering scheme involving Febrie Adriansyah.
Anang Supriatna, the head of the legal information center at the AGO, said on Thursday that it is registered under No. Print-03/F.2/Fd.2/07/2026 dated July 20, 2026.
The investigation order concerned the discovery of 74 kilograms of gold and foreign banknotes worth hundreds of billions of rupiah at Febrie's house in Sentul, Bogor.
AGO has issued four Letters of Investigation in Febrie's handling, including one concerning alleged corruption and money laundering at PT Krakatau Steel, alleged corruption in coal supply for power plants, alleged corruption at PT Asabri, and the recent one concerning alleged money laundering.
AGO has named Febrie as a suspect in the case of alleged corruption at PT Asabri. The investigators charge Febrie with Article 12 letter e and Article 12B of the Corruption Law, as well as Article 3 and Article 4 of the Anti-Money Laundering Law in conjunction with Article 607 paragraph (1) letters a and b of the Criminal Code.
Meanwhile, AGO also named Don Ritto, a businessman, as a suspect. He is charged with violating Article 4 and/or Article 5 of Anti-Money Laundering Law or Article 607 paragraph (1) letters b and/or c in conjunction with Article 20 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
Meanwhile, Febrie Adriansyah did not feel that naming him as a suspect and detaining him were just, as investigators should first confirm and thoroughly examine all the evidence.
"But this is what the leadership decided. I am prepared to face it and I do feel that I am indeed criminalized," said Febrie as he was escorted to the custody car at the Attorney General's office on Friday, July 24, 2026.
