TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Differences have emerged between the United States and Israel over proposals to conclude the war with Iran, KAN reported on Thursday, March 26.

According to the Israeli public broadcaster, the dispute centers on three primary issues: the future of Iran's ballistic missile program, the transfer of enriched uranium to the International Atomic Energy Agency, and the potential easing of economic sanctions against Tehran.

On Wednesday, reports surfaced that a 15-point U.S. proposal to end the conflict had been conveyed to Iran via Pakistan. Washington is also reportedly considering a temporary one-month ceasefire to pave the way for formal negotiations.

Citing an unnamed Iranian official, the semi-official Tasnim news agency reported on Thursday that Iran has formally submitted its response to the U.S. proposal through a mediator.

The response includes demands for a cessation of attacks and assassinations across all fronts, guarantees against further hostilities, financial compensation, and the recognition of Iran's sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, the official stated.

Meanwhile, KAN, citing political sources in Israel, noted that U.S.-Israel talks remain ongoing and indicated a possibility that the American proposal may yet be revised.

An Israeli source also remarked that Iran is "already using the language of a final war," while continuing to put forward significant demands during ongoing contacts.

The source added that there are growing concerns within Israel that Donald Trump may push for a temporary ceasefire as a leverage point to negotiate directly with Iran.

Despite reports of mediation efforts spearheaded by Pakistan, a potential meeting between U.S. and Iranian officials has not yet been scheduled.

The United States and Israel have continued to launch airstrikes against Iran since February 28, operations that have claimed more than 1,340 lives, including that of then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

In retaliation, Iran has launched a series of drone and missile attacks targeting Israel and regions hosting U.S. military assets in Jordan, Iraq, and the Gulf states.
