TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The White House launched Trump TV on Monday, September 21, presenting it as a 24/7 streaming platform focused on content from the Trump administration. The launch came days after President Donald Trump announced restrictions on CNN, MSNOW and Politico’s access to the White House.
According to the White House livestream page, citing Fox Baltimore, “Trump TV: The Essentials Station” is designed to bring together the administration’s major moments in one place. Its description says the service will feature top videos, major remarks and highlights, with content streaming continuously and updated in real time.
The White House promoted the launch through social media, posting that the channel would be “Streaming 24/7. Live at 7PM.” It also released teaser clips, including footage of an old television displaying a “Something’s coming” message and what appeared to be an AI-generated video of a satellite truck approaching the White House.
The launch coincided with a growing dispute between the Trump administration and several news outlets. CNN, MSNOW and Politico filed a federal lawsuit seeking to restore their White House credentials and prevent enforcement of the restrictions while the case proceeds. The outlets argue that the ban violates their First Amendment rights and due-process protections.
Trump defended the restrictions, arguing that the White House should not be required to provide access to outlets he accused of publishing false or defamatory reports. Meanwhile, ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News and NBC jointly declined to provide a replacement crew after CNN was blocked from scheduled White House pool duties.
Against that backdrop, Trump TV represents a White House-controlled platform for directly distributing administration videos, remarks and highlights to viewers. The Fox Baltimore report describes it primarily as a 24/7 streaming outlet rather than a conventional television network.
