TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Women's National Team players are currently sitting at the bottom of Group A's temporary standings after suffering a heavy defeat 0-8 by the host Thailand. The two teams faced off in an opening match at Chonburi Stadium, Thailand, on Thursday, December 4, 2025.
According to Antara, Indonesia struggled throughout the match. The goals scored by Nafeeza Nori (own goal 8'), Aupachai Pattaranan (21'), Silawan Intamee (27'), Saowalak Pengngam (44'), Jiraporn Mongkoldee (48', 51', 59'), and Panittha Jeeratanapavibul (55') ensured Thailand's significant victory.
This win places Thailand at the top of Group A with three points and an eight-goal difference. Indonesia sits in third place with zero points and a minus-eight goal difference. The second-ranked team, Singapore, has not yet collected any points but currently holds a better goal difference than Indonesia.

What are Indonesia's chances of advancing to the semifinals?
There is still a chance, although very slim. The top two teams in the standings will advance. Indonesia still has one remaining match and could qualify with a victory.
Akira Higashiyama's squad will play their second match and final group stage fixture against Singapore on Sunday, December 7, at Chonburi Stadium. This will be Singapore's first match in the tournament. On December 10, they will face Thailand.
Given their current position, Thailand, which has already secured a decisive victory, is the most favored to progress. Singapore will follow Thailand if it manages to defeat Indonesia.
The Garuda squad could also fail to advance despite winning against Singapore if Singapore also wins its final match. The goal difference will determine the final standings, and Indonesia currently has a minus-eight goal difference.
