TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chinese President Xi Jinping called President Prabowo to congratulate Indonesia and China on the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic relations. The communication was expressed as a symbol of friendship between the two countries.
As cited in the official release of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prabowo expressed the friendship between Indonesia and China, which has been established for 75 years. This relationship proves the strong and dynamic partnership between the two countries. In that spirit, according to Prabowo, Indonesia is committed to continuing to promote cooperation in the five main pillars, namely politics, economy, culture, maritime, and security.
Conversely, Xi Jinping stated that the bilateral relationship between Indonesia and China has experienced rapid development. According to Xi Jinping, Indonesia is a developing country with strength in the Global South region. He hopes the cooperation between the two countries can be meaningful and influential globally.
The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Indonesia remains firmly committed to advancing a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with China. The evolving friendship and cooperation between the two countries continue to bring mutual benefits and contribute to the region's peace, stability, and prosperity.
Previously, Xi Jinping reaffirmed China's support for Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto's administration. He expressed this during a bilateral meeting with Prabowo at Balai Besar Rakyat in Beijing on Saturday, November 9, 2024, as part of Prabowo's 16-day visit to several countries.
As reported by Antara, Xi Jinping said China is firmly willing to support President Prabowo's governance and believes that under the strong leadership of President Prabowo and the new government, Indonesia will remain committed to the path of independent development.
According to Xi Jinping, Prabowo will continue to achieve new accomplishments on the journey towards prosperity and national modernization. Xi assessed that the Indonesian government smoothly completed the government transition and opened a new chapter in the country's development.
