Prabowo to Present 'Prabowonomics' at World Economic Forum

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Zurich, Switzerland, on Wednesday evening at approximately 18:00 local time. He traveled to Switzerland to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2026 in Davos on Thursday, January 22, 2026.

Upon disembarking the aircraft, Prabowo was welcomed by the Indonesian Ambassador to the Swiss Confederation, I Gede Ngurah Swajaya, and the Defense Attache of the Indonesian Embassy in Paris, First Marshal Hendra Gunawan.

In a statement on the presidenri.go.id website, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya noted that Prabowo will deliver a keynote address at the forum, which is attended by more than 65 heads of state and government as well as over 1,000 CEOs of major global corporations. According to Teddy, the President will present economic ideas designed and implemented both before and during his leadership.

"He will talk about the economic conceptual ideas that he has conceived and implemented, both before and since becoming President, and President Prabowo will talk about the results that the government has achieved in this past year, which is called Prabowonomics, so you will see it tomorrow," Secretary Teddy told the media at London Stansted Airport before departing for Switzerland.

The World Economic Forum is a non-profit international multi-stakeholder organization that promotes cooperation among global leaders to address world challenges through dialogue and cross-sector collaboration. The 2026 WEF Annual Meeting carries the theme "A Spirit of Dialogue," which emphasizes the importance of open and collaborative dialogue amid economic uncertainty and global geopolitical dynamics.

Indonesia's participation in the 2026 WEF serves as strategic momentum to affirm its position in the global supply chain, strengthen its image and investment opportunities, and attract investor commitments in green energy, the digital economy, and other strategic sectors.

During the forum, Indonesia is also hosting the Indonesia Pavilion from January 19-23, 2026, and the Indonesia Night event on January 21, 2026, to boost investment in the country.

Prabowo's presence at the 2026 WEF Annual Meeting reaffirms Indonesia's commitment to actively engage in global dialogue and multilateral collaboration, while advocating for national interests amid global challenges and uncertainties.

The presidential aircraft carrying President Prabowo and his entourage took off from Stansted Airport in London, England, and flew for approximately one hour and thirty minutes to Zurich. During the flight, President Prabowo was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. From the airport, President Prabowo and his entourage proceeded directly to their hotel.
