The panda cub was born at Taman Safari Indonesia. Named Satrio Wiratama, or Rio, Prabowo shares that it means "a brave and virtuous noble fighter."
"Your Excellency, we received a report yesterday... This panda was given to us 10 years ago and just gave birth to a cub yesterday," says Prabowo.
In response, Wang Huning smiles and says "gong xi," which means "congratulations." Wang admits that it's not easy for pandas to give birth.
The panda cub must not be separated from its mother, says Prabowo, adding that Taman Safari Indonesia asked him to name the cub.
"I named him Satrio Wiratama," the head of state says. "It's a long name, but we will call [the cub] Rio."
Wang jokes that Rio should be drafted into the military. Prabowo then laughs and thanks him, mentioning that many pandas have been born in Indonesia.
President Prabowo Subianto received a visit from Wang Huning at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, today.
Wang Huning was welcomed with a performance of Tari Pa'gellu Toraja by 12 dancers and musicians as a form of honor and manifestation of Indonesia's cultural richness. After getting out of his vehicle, Wang headed to the main yard of the Merdeka Palace, where he was warmly greeted by President Prabowo.
The two leaders then proceeded to the credential room for a photo session. Wang Huning subsequently signed the guest book at the Palace.
After the signing, President Prabowo introduced the Indonesian delegation present for the meeting. Among those present were the Speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Ahmad Muzani, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Deputy Foreign Minister Arrmanatha Nasir, and Deputy Indonesian Ambassador to China Irene.
The activity then continued with a one-on-one meeting between Prabowo and Wang Huning. The two leaders then had lunch with their respective delegations.
