TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto invited the officials and players of the Indonesian national team to his home at 4 Kertanegara Street, South Jakarta, for lunch during the Eid al-Adha 1446 Hijriah moment on Friday, June 6, 2025. On the occasion, the head of state also appreciated the Garuda team for qualifying for the fourth round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The meeting between Prabowo and the officials and players of the Indonesian National Team took about 90 minutes. Prabowo was accompanied by State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and the Chairperson of the Indonesian Football Association, Erick Thohir.
Erick said that the head of state treated the officials and players of the Indonesian national team as family. Therefore, Prabowo invited the Garuda team to have lunch at his home.
"Because we know they have sacrificed a lot for the Red and White," Erick said in a press statement after the meeting at 4 Kertanegara Street, South Jakarta, on Friday, June 6, 2025.
Erick stated that Prabowo also conveyed a message to the officials and all the Indonesian national team players to give their best in the remaining World Cup qualifying matches. "Don't relax just because time has passed. That is not a trait the President possesses," he said.
Prior to meeting the Indonesian national team at his residence, Prabowo performed the Eid al-Adha prayer at Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta in the morning. Prabowo wore a white shirt, trousers, and a black skullcap.
Prabowo entered through the VVIP entrance, which had been secured by the presidential security forces since dawn. Prabowo was in the front row to perform the Eid al-Adha prayer at Istiqlal Mosque.
He was welcomed by the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Pratikno. Not far from there, there was the House Speaker, Puan Maharani.
In addition, there were several officials from the Red and White Cabinets. Tempo's observation at Istiqlal Mosque revealed the presence of the Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian; the Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon; the Minister of Law, Supratman Andi Agtas; the Coordinating Minister; the Minister of Investment and Industry, Rosan Roeslani; and the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono.
Several deputy ministers also attended, including the Deputy Minister of Culture, Giring Ganesha; the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anis Matta; and the Deputy Minister of Social Affairs, Agus Jabo.
