Prabowo Extends Ramadan Greetings to the People of Jordan

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian president Prabowo Subianto extended Ramadan greetings to the people of Jordan. He conveyed his blessings during a meeting with King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan at Basman Palace in Amman.

Upon arrival, Prabowo expressed gratitude for the warm reception from the Jordanian Kingdom, even calling Jordan his “second home.”

“On behalf of Indonesia and personally, I also want to convey Ramadan Mubarak to the people of Jordan,” he said on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, according to an official statement from the Presidential Secretariat.

Prabowo had arrived at Marka Military Airport in Amman on the night of Tuesday, February 24, 2026, ahead of his bilateral meeting with the King. His flight was escorted into Jordanian airspace by two F-16 fighter jets of the Royal Jordanian Air Force.

During the escort, one of the pilots greeted Prabowo via radio, offering Ramadan blessings.

“Your Excellency, Mr. President, Assalamualaikum warahmatullah. This is Lion One speaking. Your Excellency, on behalf of His Majesty King Abdullah II and the people of Jordan, we are honored to welcome you to the Jordanian airspace. It is a great honor for us to escort your flight this evening. Wishing you a blessed stay and a safe landing. Ramadan Mubarak, Sir,” the pilot said, as captured in a video statement by the Presidential Secretariat.

Prabowo responded warmly, expressing appreciation for the escort and his happiness to return to Jordan. “Thank you very much, Lion flight; this is Indonesia One. Once again, Ramadan Mubarak. Wish you all the best in this holy month,” he said.
