Prabowo Arrives in Switzerland for WEF Davos 2026

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto arrived at Zurich International Airport, Switzerland, on Wednesday evening, January 21, 2026, at approximately 17:55 local time. The Head of State is scheduled to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2026 in Davos on Thursday, January 22, 2026.

According to an official statement from the Presidential Secretariat, upon his arrival in Switzerland, Prabowo was welcomed by the Indonesian Ambassador to the Swiss Confederation, I Gede Ngurah Swajaya, and the Defense Attache of the Indonesian Embassy in Paris, First Marshal Hendra Gunawan. Prabowo was seen wearing a black songkok and a heavy, long black overcoat.

The presidential aircraft carrying Prabowo and his entourage had previously departed from Stansted Airport in London, United Kingdom. The group flew for approximately one hour and thirty minutes to reach Zurich. During the flight, Prabowo was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

While in Switzerland, Prabowo will deliver a speech at the annual World Economic Forum 2026. According to the official World Economic Forum website, Prabowo's special address is scheduled to take place on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 14:00 to 14:30 local time.

At the event, Prabowo is slated to share the stage with the President and Chief Executive Officer of the World Economic Forum, Borge Brende.

Various other heads of state and global figures will also deliver special addresses. These include French President Emmanuel Macron, U.S. President Donald Trump, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Argentine President Javier Milei, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

The World Economic Forum is an international non-profit, multi-stakeholder organization that fosters cooperation among global leaders to address world challenges through dialogue and cross-sector collaboration. The WEF Annual Meeting 2026 is centered on the theme "A Spirit of Dialogue," highlighting the necessity of an open and collaborative spirit amid economic uncertainty and shifting global geopolitical dynamics.
