TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang emphasized that investing in artificial intelligence (AI) is a long-term business strategy driven by high market demand. His statement also dismissed concerns that massive investment competition could trigger a collapse in the technology sector.
"We’re far from an AI bubble," the head of the U.S. AI chipmaker told reporters in Tokyo on Wednesday (July 15), adding that "the current demand is incredibly strong."
According to Huang, the development of this technological infrastructure will take at least a decade.
As reported by ANTARA, it is known that the Nvidia CEO arrived in Tokyo to attend several corporate events. Huang believes that Japan has the right momentum to develop physical AI technology, which allows robots and other devices to operate autonomously.
This is based on Japan's historical track record of excellence in precision manufacturing and large-scale manufacturing.
He also added that AI technology could help Japan overcome its severe labor crisis. "Through automation, AI, and robotics, you can strengthen the existing workforce and increase national productivity," Huang said.
Currently, the Japanese government is aggressively promoting the development of domestic AI as part of its efforts to maintain national security and data protection.
In this regard, Huang emphasized the importance of technological sovereignty by stating that a nation's intelligence must be nurtured, enhanced, and developed within the country itself.
He revealed that Nvidia is preparing to make several important announcements about sovereign AI this week.
