TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Besides being available on Playstation (PS), Upin & Ipin Universe, launched on July 17, 2025, has also been distributed in a PC version on Steam. The game, adapted from the famous Malaysian animation, requires specific specifications for smooth gameplay.
According to the recommendations provided by the developers, PC players must have at least Windows 10 64-bit, an Intel Core i5-6500 processor, and 16 GB of RAM to play Upin & Ipin Universe. It is also necessary to have 15 GB of internal storage and an Nvidia GTX 1060 graphics card.
As for the recommended PC specifications for enhanced graphics, it includes Windows 10/11 64-bit and an Intel Core i5-10600K processor. Streamline Studios and Les' Copaque Production, the creators, also suggest using an AMD Ryzen 5 3600X or Nvidia Geforce RTX 2060 12 GB or equivalent graphics card. The RAM and memory size should be 16GB/15GB.
After its debut last week, some players praised the sophistication of the game's features and concept. However, there were also criticisms regarding code defects, design weaknesses, and an unsatisfactory storyline.
One of the bugs highlighted by Steam users is the sudden appearance of the character Uncle Muthu in various locations. Some users encountered graphic barriers, despite meeting the recommended specifications.
There were also complaints about the pricing. Upin & Ipin Universe, released a few days ago, is priced at Rp 654,452 on Steam and Epic Games Store. On PlayStation (PS) 4 and 5, the price is Rp 579,000, while on Nintendo Switch, it's around Rp 652,000. "The price is too expensive," a comment on Steam said.
Other users also complained about the confusing storyline. This game is indeed geared towards the children's world with freedom for exploration. However, the game's storyline in Kampung Durian Runtuh-the environment where Upin and Ipin reside-was considered weak, even though players were provided with side stories.
In the PS world, the game received an average rating of 2.97 out of 5 based on 111 user reviews. Epic Games Store does not list user reviews. The types of comments that appeared on YouTube, regarding Upin & Ipin Universe, were much more diverse based on individual experiences.
