TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Head of the Indonesian Government Communications Agency (Bakom RI), Muhammad Qodari, stated that the large number of international events held in Indonesia throughout August 2026 proves that Indonesia is a safe country.
In a statement on Tuesday, citing ANTARA, Bakom RI Head Qodari said that Indonesia has earned the world's trust as a host for various international-class events that attract attention not only domestically but also from the international community.
"This trust is proof that Indonesia is a safe, comfortable country, and ready to become a destination for international events that have a positive impact on tourism and the national economy," said Qodari.
He provided examples of events that will take place in August 2026. These events range from sports competitions, such as Aston Villa versus Indonesia All Stars and AC Milan versus Chelsea, to the Maybank Marathon Bali and music and anime festivals, including the LaLaLa Festival 2026 and the Anime Festival Asia Indonesia.
On Saturday, July 25, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that Indonesia will host various national and international sports, cultural, music, and exhibition events throughout the remainder of 2026 and into early 2027.
It demonstrates Indonesia's ability to host world-class events, the cabinet secretary said. It provides entertainment and opportunities for achievement. It also creates opportunities for collaboration, stimulates tourism, and revitalizes the local economy. Additionally, it provides the community with opportunities to work and develop.
He expects the implementation of these various agendas to encourage the movement of domestic and foreign tourists.
