TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian government targets the recovery and reconstruction of disaster-hit areas in Sumatra to be completed within 100 days. The government has prepared the rehabilitation and construction process for the areas affected by floods and landslides in North Sumatra, West Sumatra, and Aceh.
"The target is within 100 days, and the 1-year timeline is prepared so the public can monitor the achievements in a measurable manner," said Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs Pratikno in his written statement in Jakarta on Thursday, December 4, 2025.
In line with President Prabowo Subianto's directives, he said that the state must be present and help citizens recover from this difficult situation. "The government's focus is not only on distributing logistical assistance such as rice and instant noodles, but also to stoke the hope for the people to rebuild their lives," said Pratikno.
The government, he said, is working tirelessly to restore the community's condition during this emergency response period. The entire government machinery is mobilized to meet the basic needs of the affected residents.
"The instructions from Bapak President are very clear. We must mobilize all the resources of the central government, all ministries and agencies, TNI, Polri, and BNPB so that there is improvement, acceleration, and increased response to the people's needs every hour, every minute," said Pratikno.
He expressed his appreciation to all Indonesians who have shown solidarity in helping fellow citizens affected by the disaster.
"Let us also show appreciation to all the officers and volunteers who struggle to rescue victims in a very difficult situation," he said.
