TEMPO.COM, Jakarta - The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) of the Ministry of Finance recorded Rp43.75 trillion in digital economy tax revenues as of October 31, 2025. The digital tax comes from e-commerce's value-added tax (VAT), crypto tax, tax from fintech peer-to-peer lending, and tax from procurement of goods and services through the government procurement information system (SIPP tax).
The Director of Outreach, Service, and Public Relations of DJP, Rosmauli, said the government strives to make a fair, simple, and effective system for the digital economy tax. "The Rp43.75 trillion realization confirms that the digital economy has become an important driver of state revenue," said Rosmauli in an official statement on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.
E-commerce tax revenue thus far has reached Rp33.88 trillion. The amount consists of Rp731.4 billion in 2020, Rp3.9 trillion in 2021, Rp5.51 trillion in 2022, Rp6.76 trillion in 2023, Rp8.44 trillion in 2024, and Rp8.54 trillion until 2025.
Meanwhile, the tax revenue from crypto has reached Rp1.76 trillion. This comes from Rp246.45 billion in 2022, Rp220.83 billion in 2023, Rp620.4 billion in 2024, and Rp675.6 billion in 2025. The tax revenue from crypto consists of Income Tax 22, amounting to Rp889.52 billion and domestic VAT amounting to Rp873.76 billion.
Fintech tax has also contributed revenue of Rp4.19 trillion. Revenue from fintech tax comes from Rp446.39 billion in 2022, Rp1.11 trillion in 2023, Rp1.48 trillion in 2024, and Rp1.15 trillion in 2025.
The fintech tax consists of Income Tax 23 on domestic taxpayers and permanent establishment income by BUT at Rp1.16 trillion, Income Tax 26 on foreign taxpayers at Rp724.45 billion, and domestic VAT for installment payments amounting to Rp2.3 trillion.
Tax revenue from other digital economy businesses comes from SIPP tax, reaching Rp3.92 trillion. Revenue from SIPP tax comes from Rp402.38 billion in 2022, Rp1.12 trillion in 2023, then Rp1.33 trillion in 2024, and Rp1.07 trillion in 2025.
