TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Several former commanders of the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) gathered at the Ministry of Defense building on Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, Central Jakarta, on Friday morning, April 24, 2026. They convened for a get-together and veterans' reception hosted by the Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin.
Observations by Tempo noted several former commanders arriving at the complex around 8:50 a.m. Among the prominent figures in attendance were former Commander Wiranto, alongside retired generals Yudo Margono, Agus Suhartono, Andika Perkasa, and Gatot Nurmantyo.
The gathering also drew Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Djamari Chaniago, as well as General Dudung Abdurachman, the former Army Chief of Staff who now serves as the Special Advisor to the President on National Defense.
Rounding out the elite guest list were current military leaders, including Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) Maruli Simanjuntak, Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Muhammad Ali, and Air Force Chief of Staff Tonny Harjono. Vice Commander of the TNI Tandyo Budi Revita was also seen entering the premises.
As of this report, the specific agenda for the discussions has not yet been disclosed as the officials remain engaged in a closed-door session.
