TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A video circulating on X [archive] and Facebook claims that a 13-year-old girl was raped by 32 men over five days in India. The post claims that four perpetrators were executed by hanging by a bulldozer.
The content shows a crowd cheering as they watch four figures wrapped in white cloth hanging from the bulldozer blade. The four appear to be moving in the air. The video also includes a photo of a girl in a pink dress, who is claimed to be the rape victim.
But is this really a video of the four rapists being hanged in India?
FACT CHECK
Tempo verified the content through a reverse image search and compared it with credible media reports. The results showed that the video does not record the execution of the perpetrators of the rape because the legal process is still ongoing. The photo of the girl in the pink dress in the post is also not a victim of the incident.
A similar video was uploaded by the Instagram account @pirgya_parihar_boss on July 9, 2026, without any caption. Visual observations indicate the footage was a theatrical performance by residents.

The Ganganagar Police, through their official account @agnpolice, confirmed on July 8, 2026, that the series of videos, photos, and short videos that had gone viral regarding the rape of a minor were completely fake. All of the visual materials were unrelated to the case being investigated in Sri Ganganagar.
The Times of India website reported that as of July 11, 2026, the police had arrested 21 suspects. Authorities also sealed a hotel suspected of being connected to the case and questioned its owner and management.
The case sparked public outrage in Sri Ganganagar. The District Congress Committee held a demonstration outside the Ganganagar Traders Association Building. The crowd protested against the police and the hotel management. District Congress President and Srikapur legislator, Rupinder Singh Kunnar, joined the demonstration to demand strict action against the perpetrators.
Victim Still Alive

The photo of the girl in the video was confirmed not to be the victim of the sexual assault in Sri Ganganagar. The full photo of the girl was previously uploaded by the Instagram accounts @ek_bihari_shab_par_bhari and @dollychauhan170 on July 7, 2026.
The bottom of the photo displays the date of her death in Hindi: "Swargiya Kumari Anshu Baghel, Punyathithi: 24.05.2026." The incident in Sri Ganganagar occurred between June 18 and 23, 2026.
Sri Ganganagar police confirmed to India Today Fact Check that the rape victim did not die and is now in the care of her family.
"Deputy Superintendent of Police Kailash Dan confirmed that the girl in the photo is not the victim in Sri Ganganagar. Police also clarified via social media that the victim is safe with her family," India Today wrote on July 8, 2026.
Chronology of Sexual Violence Case
According to a report by India Today, a 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped by more than 30 men over five days in several hotels in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, India. According to the police report, the incident began when the victim ran away from home and was sold by an auto-rickshaw driver to a hotel owner.
Kailashdan Detha, an investigating officer from the Women Abuse Unit, explained that the victim arrived in Sri Ganganagar around 10:30 p.m. local time and asked the auto-rickshaw driver to take her home. Instead of taking her home, the driver took her to the Joy Inn Hotel.
Several hotel owners and managers have been arrested in connection with the case. The girl was forced to consume alcohol whenever she felt pain from the repeated rapes, she claimed in the police report.
Investigators revealed that the victim was then moved to several different hotels and subjected to repeated sexual exploitation. The teenager claimed she was forced to drink alcohol whenever she cried out in pain due to the violence.
Police finally found the victim at the Joy Inn Hotel on June 22, 2026, after receiving a missing person report from her family. Several hotel owners and managers have now been arrested.
CONCLUSION
Tempo's verification concluded that the video of the hanging of four rapists in India is a false claim.
