TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said the government has set a target for the completion of Coretax repair in January 2026. He admitted that the repair could not be concluded in a month as initially planned due to the complexity of the system built over the past four years.
"This project was built over four years with various obstacles. But I am confident that once full access is handed over to us, everything can be completed by January. The security system and infrastructure will also be sufficient," said Purbaya during a press conference at the Ministry of Finance, Jakarta, on Friday, October 24, 2025.
According to Purbaya, the delay in the repair was caused by the contract with LG CNS-Qualysoft Consortium, as the South Korean company is the main vendor of Coretax development. He explained that the Ministry of Finance's team had completed all the repairs that could be accessed directly.
But the optimization is hindered because the Ministry of Finance is still bound by a contract with LG. "Apparently, there are still parts that we cannot access because they are still being worked on by LG. They will only hand over the access to us in December," he said.
Purbaya explained that the disruption in the Coretax system occurred in four main layers, namely the upper layer, middle layer, programming layer, and operational layer. Regarding the upper layer, he went on, problems arose because Telkom's internet network was not optimal, causing login disruptions and frequent time-outs. To overcome this, the network traffic is now redirected to Lintasarta, and the repair in this layer is said to be completed.
Meanwhile, issues in the middle layer occurred due to poorly organized sessions and cookie management. As a result, users were often thrown out of the system or experienced slow access. Purbaya said that they had added a CDN and firewall to strengthen protection.
As for the programming layer, only partial repairs have been completed, as it still depends on LG as the main system code manager. "Now they have started to respond more quickly, although it is still a bit slow. But they have sent a team here to expedite the process," said Purbaya.
